For their article about the best places to live in South Carolina real estate company Redfin recently invited me to comment about why living in my hometown of Charleston is great. In my comment, I stated that communing with the natural environment of the South Carolina Lowcountry is a transcendental experience. That is, the beauty of my native surroundings is so great that it’s almost spiritual in nature.
Thinking of this quote, I realized that my passion for native Charleston landscape design has stood the test of time. Nearly a decade later, Lowcountry Vistas Native Landscape Design stays true to its mission of honoring the spectacular natural beauty of my native environment. I’m honored to be continuously called for this work, and I’m very thankful that my passion for the work has continued to burn bright.
After all, many small business owners see their “baby” turn into a “job” with the passing of time. Fortunately, Lowcountry Vistas Native Landscape Design continues to represent far more than a business to me. I still get thrilled about making the drive from my home office on James Island to visit new native landscape design opportunities, whether it takes me around the corner to Johns Island or Kiawah Island, or if it takes me to more distant locations like Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Island, or Isle of Palms. In fact, my baby has made zip codes 29464, 29466, 29492, and 29451 my second home!
I’d like to take this opportunity to show gratitude to everyone who has hired me to harmonize their properties with the natural beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to devote myself to my passion each and every day over the last 9–going on 10–years. Thank you!
